报告题目简介:Multigrid methods have been very active area of research since it was introduced in 1960's by Fedorenko and Bachvalov.?It is one of the most efficient algorithm for solving system of linear equations; especially for elliptic problems, the theory is now well developed. In this talk, we review the methods in a more general setting, i.e., in? FEM, Cell-centered FDM, CCFD with discontinuous coefficients, problems with interface. Some early theoretical results in simple finite difference method are given by D. Braess and W. Hackbusch and for a finite element setting by R. Bank, J Bramble and Brandt gave an extensive experiment including nonlinear problem, eigenvalue problem, non elliptic problems and/or applications such as image processing.? An excellent fine theory for conforming finite element method is arranged in the series of paper by Bramble et. al.? Finally problems with interface, we present some results in this talk. Applications to data?assimilation technique in weather prediction will be given.
